For the past 10 years I have conducted talks and run workshops and classes in mindfulness and meditation.
I also supply meditation cushions, mats and other meditation gear.
I have been practicing as a counsellor and psychotherapist for over 20 years. My particular interests are in working with stress, anxiety and depression, and grief, loss and bereavement.
As a holistic practitioner, in my work with clients I include paying attention to lifestyle issues such as diet, exercise, sleep and social connection..
I graduated initially in social work and have completed postgraduate training in:
In the 1980's I spent time in monasteries and ashrams in India, Thailand and Nepal studying Buddhism and meditation.
When I returned to Australia I started work in a hospice / palliative care service. I began to integrate meditation and mindfulness practices into my counselling with people with a life threatening illness, and with people dealing with loss and grief. I worked in the field of death and dying, and grief and loss counselling for over 7 years.
I have also completed a Fine Arts degree and postgraduate studies in sculpture and ceramics, and maintain a daily yoga and meditation practice.
